17 Adam Sandler's Awards Nobody Is Jealous Of
It's not easy to be one of the best at something that's considered the worst.
Adam Sandler is probably one of the most famous comedy actors in Hollywood. His name is familiar to almost everyone and there is hardly a person who has never seen at least one of his iconic comedies.
Like The Wedding Singer, Happy Gilmore, 50 First Dates, and the list goes on and on.
He made his big screen debut in the 1989 comedy Going Overboard, which he also wrote. He joined Saturday Night Live in 1990, first as a writer and then as an actor. He went on to star in and produce a number of comedies.
Almost all of his achievements have led to Sandler being nominated for multiple prestigious awards, such as Grammy, Ammy or Golden Globe Awards.
But he also has a very unique track record in the industry that no one else in Hollywood would like to have.
It turns out that Adam Sandler holds the record with 37 nominations for the Golden Raspberry Awards. It is a parody awards show that honors the worst movies of all time. The movies they consider to be real failures.
He was first nominated for Razzies (the second name for award) in 1997 for taking part in Bulletproof and Happy Gilmore. This was also his first win at this award ceremony.
Since then, he has been a frequent nominee for the Golden Raspberry, and has won 17 times in various categories! For example, he won for Worst Screenplay for Big Daddy and Little Nicky.
But all that is nothing compared to the hatred his movie Jack and Jill received.
He got everything for that movie: Worst Actor, Worst Actress, Worst Prequel, Worst Picture, Worst Picture Combo, Worst Screenplay, and Worst Screenplay Ensemble.
However, despite his popularity with the awards, there is someone else who has won more Worst Actor awards than Sandler.
That would be Sylvester Stallone, who has won the Razzie for this nomination 10 times!
