11-year-old Kirsten Dunst Freaked Out When 31-year-old Brad Pitt Kissed Her: 'It Was Gross!'
In Interview with a Vampire, Kirsten Dunst had to kiss Brad Pitt, who was almost three times her age, on the lips — and for such a young girl, that was an awful experience.
Kissing Brad Pitt is but a dream for millions of people around the world. The actor has been one of the most popular men in the world for decades now, so it’s only fair; however, when it comes to the realization of this kissing dream, there obviously need to be limitations. Those, particularly, that were not in place back in 1994.
Kirsten Dunst’s career began really early, and among her other projects, she was also part of Interview with a Vampire where she played Claudia — a 10-year-old girl who was transformed into a vampire. Kirsten herself was just 11 at the time, and while she had mostly fond memories of the set, one thing grossed her out a lot.
Despite being “treated like a total princess on set,” as Dunst put it in an interview with Vanity Fair, there was one particular scene that bugged her tremendously. Remember how we said the actress was only eleven while filming the movie? Well, in one of the scenes, she had to kiss Brad Pitt, who was 31 already, on the lips!
“That was the worst thing I did and also having obviously to kiss Brad Pitt at that point. I was a little girl and he was like a brother to me and it was very weird even though it was a peck. I was very not into it,” Dunst recalled in the same interview.
Obviously, the reason was not that Pitt was a bad kisser: it was that for young Kirsten, that was her first kiss, and it was with a 31-year-old man who she perceived as her elder brother at the time. This kiss was very wrong on many levels, and we’re honestly surprised that it had to even be in the movie. What was the reason for that?
