Can it be weirder?

Summary:

  • The Big Bang Theory is an iconic series full of weird characters.
  • They often end up in ridiculous situations that sometimes cross the line.
  • The creepiest episode in the show, though, is this one from season 8.

The whole nature of sitcoms is to be funny and bring joy to the viewers. But sometimes they succeed more in creeping them out with various ridiculous scenarios the writers come up with.

There are a lot of cringeworthy moments and particular scenes in almost every series, but to have a whole episode being totally creepy is something that happens quite rarely. For example, we are sure that every Friends fan will admit to you that the creepiest episode in the entire show was the one where Rachel was a cheerleader.

What about The Big Bang Theory then? Well, there were many candidates for handling the title of the weirdest, as the quirky characters have a lot to offer in that area, but episode 7 season 8 has won the battle.

It is an episode released in 2014, called The Misinterpretation Agitation, the one featuring Billy Bob Thornton as Dr. Oliver Lorvis. If you are a diehard TBBT fan, this info is enough for you to roll your eyes and cringe again, but if this tells you nothing, we will elaborate.

The episode features Penny already being a successful pharmaceutical representative and having one of her clients come to her apartment because he thought she was interested in him. Why would he think so though?

The thing is, she used an old trick to get more customers: she flirted with him a little. And the poor lonely man tracked down Penny's address to find her and bring her flowers, basically becoming a creepy stalker.

Penny wasn't wearing her engagement ring (to get the salesman's job done), so Dr. Lorvis assumed she was single and his "romantic act" would win her over. Instead, he met Leonard and ended up in her apartment being comforted by him and Sheldon.

But that's not all that happened in this episode. Dr. Lorvis ended up making a big impression on the entire gang, so when he offered to show them his apartment, they agreed, only to end up locked in his basement.

The whole episode reeks of awkwardness, which makes it the strangest one ever created in the universe of the show, and even among all other TV shows.

If you want to give the episode a chance to impress you again, you can binge The Big Bang Theory on MAX.
