10 Wannabe-Blockbusters of 2010s That Flopped Hard
That awkward moment when you were going for a billion at the box office but severely underdelivered — that's the story of the movies in this list.
These blockbusters released in the 2010s were supposed to be something big, but something went horribly wrong and they barely made any cash.
There are multiple reasons why these movies flopped. From questionable casting and acting performance to janky plots to production nightmares, these works were just not good.
Sure, some found their glory in the Tumblr blogs (we salute Les Mis here) and were dissected by the fans quite thoroughly, which did not generate enough profit but still got the word out. Some, however, that were so horrible they weren't even memed properly and got nearly erased from the collective memory.
There were movies that were doomed from the beginning because they were trying to replicate masterpieces that didn't need that, and once again we're gonna repeat that not every successful work should be rebooted, should have a sequel, or should have its lore expanded by a side-story.
You gotta leave some things as they are because they are already perfect, and your interpretation will only confirm that, putting them on a pedestal.
Here are all the films mentioned: After Earth (2013), Hercules (2014), Robocop (2014), Snow White and the Huntsman (2012), Dracula Untold (2014), Ghost in the Shell (2017), Pan (2015), Les Misérables (2012), Assassin's Creed (2016), Green Lantern (2011).
