10. The Uncanny Counter (2020–2021)
If you’ve always loved Supernatural but felt like that show needed a South Korean superhero-ish twist, rejoice: you’ve found it. The Uncanny Counter follows a secret group of humans with superpowers who hunt down vile spirits and protect their neighbors’ peaceful sleep. The best part? They operate out of a small noodle shop.
9. Hospital Playlist (2020–2021)
Further down the line, we have Hospital, but with a South Korean aesthetic — and much more heartwarming. Hospital Playlist follows five young doctors who finished their medical school back in 1999 and joined the same hospital. No matter what happens, they keep their friendship and rely on it… And there’s a lot happening.
8. Vagabond (2019)
If it’s proper drama and high stakes you want, seek no further than Vagabond. This series follows an underrated stuntman whose world comes crashing down when a plane with his nephew crashes. Despite only being an ordinary man, he decides to investigate the tragic incident and uncovers an overwhelming corruption scheme.
7. Kingdom (2019–2020)
Who told you that medieval Korea and zombie apocalypse are mutually exclusive? Don’t listen to them; watch Kingdom, instead. When a mysterious plague that turns people into zombies overtakes the kingdom of Joseon, the young crown prince attempts to find a cure, unaware of the political schemes brewing around him.
