Not all shows are as predictable as you may think.

While some people are looking for sweet romantic stories and fantasy settings to escape to, others are looking for adventure and action in the TV series they watch. What unites all viewers, however, is a true love for unexpected twists and turns that keep the shows from becoming boring and repetitive.

Although Korean dramas are stereotypically known for relying on many tropes and clichés, making most of them predictable, there are some titles that will keep you on the edge of your seat. If you are looking for someone to get your adrenaline pumping, check out one of the K-dramas below.

Struggling to survive in a harsh world without a job, young man Choi Yi-jae loses his will to live and is about to fall into hell. However, the Death herself has other plans for him and forces him to go through 12 rounds of life, death and subsequent reincarnation before he reaches his final destination.

Tomorrow (2022)

We're used to thinking of the Grim Reaper as a figure who takes the soul to its final destination. However, this drama changes the idea and focuses on a group of reapers who don't want to take souls, but want to keep those who have taken their own lives too soon in their world for as long as they were truly destined to.

May It Please The Court (2022)

Noh Chak-Hee has built her entire career as a corporate lawyer on using the most ruthless techniques imaginable. But after winning a high-profile case by manipulating the victim, she has to serve her sentence and return to the Seoul public defender's office. The setback, however, only gives her more opportunities.
