Perhaps the worst thing that could happen to a modern-day playboy is to travel back in time and find himself trapped in the body of a Joseon queen, bound by many traditional expectations. Now that he's there, he must make sure that the queen doesn't fall victim to palace intrigue and that he isn't imprisoned in the past forever.

Moving (2023) | Rating: 9.1

If you're a fan of the superhero genre, this might be the perfect K-drama for you. The story follows 3 high school students who get superhuman abilities but are forced to hide them to avoid attracting the attention of the wrong people. Some might argue that their parents become real heroes, protecting their children with their lives.

Hospital Playlist (2020) | Rating: 9.1

If you were looking for a medical K-drama, this would be the perfect one to start with. The story of five friends who all work in a hospital and dedicate themselves to saving as many people as possible, often at the expense of their personal lives and time. Everything from the characters to the visuals is top notch.

Move to Heaven (2021) | Rating: 9.1

There is a stereotype that all Korean dramas are based on romance, but this one proves it wrong. This is a nuanced and heartfelt piece about an autistic 20-year-old and his ex-convict uncle who has to take over guardianship after his brother's death. Together, they work at a company that sorts through things of the deceased and try to restore balance to their lives.

Mother (2018) | Rating: 9.0

This is a lesser known and emotional drama about a substitute teacher who can't stand to see one of her students being bullied and takes matters into her own hands. She kidnaps the girl and acts as a mother to her, trying to resolve the inner conflict and traumatic memories the whole ordeal brings to her life.
