When life imitates art.

While we can all appreciate the acting skills of many talented K-drama stars, there is something especially great about watching the show and knowing that the two people on screen actually shared the feelings they were supposed to portray.

Whether it's a PR stunt or a real-life attraction fueled by the script, the couples who ended up together after the show or movie will always be on everyone's minds.

If you want to find out which K-drama actors have taken their on-screen romance a little too far and get a list of the shows with the best possible chemistry, check out the list below.

Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo

The leads of Descendants of the Sun (2016) went so far as to get married at the end of October 2017. However, the passion couldn't hold the marriage together for long. Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo announced their divorce and finalized it in July 2019 due to irreconcilable differences.

Lee Min-ho and Park Min-young

The pairing was short-lived as the relationship lasted mere months, but brought a lot of joy to fans of the action thriller City Hunter (2011). Playing the two leads of the series, Lee Yoon-sung and Kim Na-na, the actors enjoyed each other's company a little too much to part ways after filming and promotion was over.

Nam Joo-hyuk and Lee Sung-kyung

Fans of the couple are still hoping that they will rekindle their relationship. After starring in Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo (2016), the actors became close friends and then revealed their relationship status. Though the couple broke up a few months later, there were some rumors of them getting back together in 2022, but no official confirmation followed.

Rocky and Park Bo-yeon

Rocky, who debuted as a member of the boy group Astro in 2016, met his sweetheart Park Bo-yeon while filming the drama Find Me If You Can (2021). Although there aren't many updates about their relationship floating around the internet, it's safe to assume that the couple is still going strong and enjoying each other's company.

Lee Joon and Jung So-min

All viewers of the family drama My Father Is Strange (2017) were rooting so hard for their characters, Ahn Joong-hee and Lee Mi-yeong, to get together that the wishful thinking somehow led to the actors dating in real life. They stayed together for a good three years, but then went their separate ways and grew further apart.

Lee Joon-gi and Jeon Hye-bin

Gunman in Joseon (2014) would be worthy of anyone's attention, regardless of their personal lives. However, the chemistry between the couple was so obvious that it only made it that much more enjoyable to watch. The only sad thing is that the relationship between the actors didn't last long, as the two had to part ways due to busy schedules.

Lee Sang-woo and Kim So-yeon

After meeting on Happy Home (2016), it didn't take long for the couple's feelings to develop. About a month after filming ended, they announced their relationship, and a year later, they tied the knot in a private and sweet ceremony. But that doesn't mean that the love wasn't strong: Lee Sang-woo and Kim So-yeon are still happily married to this day.

Ryu Jun-yeol and Hyeri

While Ryu Jun-yeol and Hyeri have chosen a fairly private lifestyle and don't seem to share too much personal information anymore, the couple who met on the set of Reply 1988 (2015-2016) is still rumored to be dating. The actors, who portrayed two of the show's five main characters, admitted that their relationship started towards the end of 2016.

Ji Sung and Lee Bo-young

Although two actors recently celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary, they met long before 2013. After starring together in Save The Last Dance For Me (2005), it took the couple another two years to go public with their relationship, and another six years to get married. Now, Ji Sung and Lee Bo-young are still going strong and raising two children.

Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin

The couple first worked together on The Negotiation (2019), but it was the hit series Crash Landing On You (2019-2020) that really made them get to know each other better and settle their feelings. The couple got engaged in February 2020 and married a month later. Now they are said to be one of the most powerful couples in Korean entertainment.
