We must petition for their return.

Even though General Hospital viewers often complain that the show's cast is so bloated that they cannot find enough time to fit their favorites into enough episodes, they still yearn for more. Half of the overused and overall boring characters could have taken a step back to allow others to shine.

Here are 10 characters who could potentially return to Port Charles, but the writers refuse to bring them back, no matter how much sense their presence would make.

Tommy Hardy

Tommy is a perfect character to bring back and build any kind of storyline around. The last time we heard from him was over a decade ago – a message that he had finished medical school – so the character can be built from the ground up. As Liz's cousin, he would fit right in with Port Charles.

Lucas Jones

One of the two characters who have become the first-ever gay General Hospital couple had much more potential than the show let on. As it was confirmed by 2024, Lucas isn’t living in Port Charles anymore, however, that doesn’t mean he can’t be back if the writers have some truly meaningful storyline to fulfill.

Brenda Barrett

Brenda's absence could have been worse than now, when Sonny is out of control again and no one around him can do anything about it. Brenda is the only person who could be trusted to notice and do something about it. Besides, it would be a great way to introduce Nina to the tragic love story that Brenda and Sonny shared.

Jerry Jacks

Right now, it feels like General Hospital is lacking real criminals, and Jerry Jacks would have been the perfect person to ruin the quiet life in Port Charles. The last time viewers heard from him, Jerry was confirmed to have escaped from Steinmauer Maximum Security Prison, so the door is as open as ever for him to return.

Lucky Spencer

It's been too long since we've seen Lucky back in Port Charles. Not only does he have unfinished romantic business with Liz, whom fans still want to see end up with him, but it just doesn't make sense for the Spencer family to not be front and center on the show. Recast the man if you have to, and let him return to the life he left behind.

Ric Lansing

Fathers abandoning their daughters is not an exception on General Hospital, but rather a boring reality. Ric Lancing, who hasn't graced our screens with his presence since the second half of the 2010s, could have played an integral part in his daughter Molly's story. Maybe he could've even made it more entertaining.

Lila Rae Alcazar

Since General Hospital desperately needs more young characters to continue the series, they could have easily brought in Lila Rae as the new intern. Considering that she was born in 2006, she might be too young for the position, but the fans will probably forgive such details if it means that they'll get someone new into the mix.

Lulu Spencer

Another Spencer who has been in hiding for too long and now desperately needs to return to Port Charles is Lulu. There are too many paths the writers could have taken with her, pairing her with just about any man, from Jason to Jagger. The fans would just love to see another legacy family continue to grow.

Frisco Jones

The charismatic and handsome Agent Andrew "Frisco" Jones, Jr. has not only been wanted for a long time, but has been rumored to be brought back. In May of 2023, there were some leaks circulating about Jack Wagner making another round as Frisco, but they never came to fruition.

Blackie Parrish

Played by John Stamos from 1982 to 1984, Blackie would be almost unrecognizable today. He was sentenced to prison for Lou's death, but it was noted that he was released two years later and could have easily returned at any time. It almost happened in 2014, but a scheduling conflict prevented it.
