10 Exciting Little Easter Eggs You Might Have Missed In Ahsoka Episodes 1 & 2, Explained
Dave Filoni is a huge Star Wars fan, so it’s no surprise that the TV show under his helm is packed with nods and references.
The first two episodes of the Ahsoka TV series are finally out, and unsurprisingly, Dave Filoni's latest show brought a ton of different easter eggs and references to other Star Wars projects.
While most of them hint at the Star Wars Rebels animated series, such as the characters Sabine Wren, Hera Syndulla, and the droid Chopper, since Ahsoka is a de facto sequel to it, there are still plenty of other curious details you might have missed, so we tried to cover them all.
1. The droid who accompanies Ahsoka on her ship, Professor Huyang, is not a new character, as he first appeared in three episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, where he was voiced by David Tennant, who reprised the role for the live-action series.
2. Fulcrum, the title Ahsoka is referred to as in the first episode, is the same title she was referred to as in the first season of Rebels, and is shared by several Rebel spies.
3. Clancy Brown reprises his role as Governor Ryder Azadi from Rebels, and is seen looking for Sabine during the ceremony.
4. The room in the tower now occupied by Sabine is a former hideout of Ezra Bridger, who disappeared with Thrawn at the end of Rebels, and is full of trophy Imperial helmets he collected.
5. Speaking of Ezra, it is revealed that the lightsaber Sabine is using is actually his, though it looks different due to many modifications she has made.
6. Morgan Elsbeth, the surviving Nightsister, first appeared in The Mandalorian season 2, though her intriguing origin wasn't revealed at the time.
7. Marrok, the red lightsaber-wielding ally of Baylan Skoll, is a former member of the Imperial Inquisitors, trained to hunt and kill Jedi.
His helmet bears a striking resemblance to that of the Eighth Brother, though the latter apparently fell to his death on Malachor. Or did he?
8. The modified Sheathipede-class Neimoidian transport shuttle seen in episode 2 is called the Phantom II and can be attached to the Ghost, the ship used by the main characters of Rebels.
It was acquired by them during the events of the animated series after they lost its predecessor.
9. Not a Star Wars reference, but anyone who watched the medical drama House, M.D. instantly recognized Peter Jacobson, who played Myn Weaver in episode 2, as he looks and acts almost identical to Chris Taub, whom the actor played in House.
10. The mention of HK-class assassin droids will immediately ring a bell for anyone who played the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic video games.
They featured the fan-favorite talkative droid companion HK-47, who was eager to wipe out the "meatbags" at every opportunity.
These are more simplified, however, and first appeared in the aforementioned second season of The Mandalorian, along with Morgan Elsbeth.
As a bonus, the scene where Sabine finally rejoins Ahsoka is a meticulous recreation of the final scene of Rebels, now in live action.
