10 Best Nickelodeon Shows to Take a Trip Down the Memory Lane

The Nickelodeon channel gave children of the 2000s perhaps the greatest amount of animated content for daily consumption. There were multi-part projects released over the years that we literally grew up with.

1. Hey Arnold!

Schoolboy Arnold's grandparents run the Sunset Arms boarding house. The young man has the usual concerns of a teenager: friends and adventures. And Helga, whose father is constantly making dangerous business plans, is secretly in love with him.

All that can be said about this animation is that Helga Pataki becomes more and more understandable as you get older. Sarcasm is probably one of the best remedies for the depressing things that sometimes occur in our lives.

2. The Angry Beavers

The beaver brothers Daggett and Norbert were kicked out from their home. The brothers quarrel constantly because they have opposite characters: Norbert seems wise even though he is only four minutes older, and Daggett is always looking for adventure. Nevertheless, the beavers cannot live without each other.

This animation is a demonstration of how wild and awesome your life could be without your parents, and what terrible consequences it would ultimately lead to – after all, we are not beavers.

3. SpongeBob SquarePants

Are you ready, kids? This animation needs no introduction. You can hardly find a popular animated project that has remained relevant for so long. The story of the underwater world, where sea creatures live according to the laws of human society, is still being aired.

Surprisingly, the animated series, which is considered by many to be a prominent representative of Japanese anime, is a purely American product of the Nickelodeon channel. This, of course, does not negate its legendary status.

5. Rugrats

One-year-old Tommy and his friends look like normal kids. But their parents don't realize how busy their children's lives actually are. As soon as the adults turn their backs, they start communicating and immediately get into trouble.

One of Nickelodeon's longest-running shows had been on air for 10 seasons and proved to adults that even the little ones are individuals with their own opinions about everything.

The schoolgirl Ginger writes in her diary all the events of her life and her thoughts. The girl's concerns are ordinary: trying to take her place among her peers, falling in love for the first time, and studying.

It's just a classic. Each episode is a separate situation, familiar to all children. And there is a wide range of different characters that children can meet at school: for example, the nasty blonde Courtney from a very rich family and her nasty brother.

Cat and Dog are opposites in everything: one is very serious and likes to keep things in order, the other is always fooling around and acting like a child. But they have to get along because they are the same creature, called CatDog.

While children watch the happy adventures of the characters, adults can see a psychological subtext in this show. After all, CatDog is about the importance of finding inner balance and accepting different sides of your personality.

8. The Wild Thornberrys

Eliza's parents have a special van, equipment and an irresistible desire to make a movie about exotic animals. The whole Thornberry family even has an enemy – the cunning poacher Kip O'Donnell. And while the parents make a movie, Eliza’s sister grumbles, and the poacher plans his next evil deed, Eliza talks to the animal world.

The animation tells about a young and very talented schoolboy – Jimmy comes up with all sorts of inventions, but most often they turn out to be dangerous, and the kid has to save the world from his own creations.

Over the course of several seasons, the show featured the most popular science fiction plots: time travel, body-swapping, alien invasion, living mummies, space travel, and many others. What can be more exciting?

10. Rocko’s Modern Life

Rocko, the Australian wallaby, lives in the American city of O-Town. He explores the US and communicates with friends and neighbors: Heffer the steer, who loves to eat; Filburt, a very nervous tortoise; and other very unusual personalities.

Rocko’s Modern Life came out bright and wild, funny and scary. Of course, in some scenes, the level of craziness exceeded all acceptable limits, but that only made the show more fun.
