In recent months, Hulu has seen a remarkable expansion in foreign films and series, especially South Korean ones. There are many entertaining K-dramas on the platform for those who appreciate the genre and are ready to dive into something new.

So it seems that having access to Korean-language streaming platforms isn't absolutely necessary to watch the most popular series, or even the industry's hidden gems. Here are ten K-dramas you need to check out this month.

1. Call It Love (2023)

This K-drama stars your favorite actors Lee Sung-kyung and Kim Young-kwang as the main characters. The story of the series revolves around their love story, which is a little more complicated than a couple would like it to be.

In some way it’s also a revenge story, because we have Sim Woo Joo’s life being turned upside down after her father died and she was forced to leave her own house. Later she meets Han Dong Jin and together they make a plan to get her life back on track. In the meantime, romance blossoms.

2. Adamas (2022)

In the center of this K-drama are two brothers, whose lives became much more complicated after the death of their father many years ago. One of them, Woo Shin, is a mystery novel writer and the other, Soo Hyun, is a prosecutor who is familiar with every criminal case in their town. However, one case gets them more interested, but to solve it they need access to Adamas, a diamond arrow that will reveal all the darkest secrets to them.

3. First Responders (2022-2023)

It's not common for K-dramas to last longer than one season, but this series managed to do it. The story follows a team of first responders from the police, the fire department, and a hospital who are willing to work together to save the world from injustice. They solve cases in their own way and help each other with their special skills. The series points out the importance of teamwork in emergency situations.

4. Moving (2023)

Another South Korean take on teenagers with superpowers, the series focuses on three characters at once: Kim Bong Seok, Jang Hee Soo, and Lee Gang Hoon. On the outside, they look completely normal, and other high school students would never guess that they are different from ordinary teenagers. But the supernatural powers within them are so strong that their parents have to protect them in every way possible to keep it all a secret.

5. One Dollar Lawyer (2022)

This K-drama is definitely a must-watch for fans of entertaining legal dramas. However, the premise of this particular show is even more intriguing as it follows the super lawyer, Cheon Ji Hun, who has his own ways of making fools out of expensive attorneys and their well-to-do clients.

Unlike any other successful lawyer, Ji Hun only takes 1000 won, which is about one dollar, as payment for each of his cases. Over the course of the series, Ji Hun becomes an influence on the young Baek Ma Ri, who also dreams of becoming a lawyer.

6. Connect (2022)

Another example of a successful South Korean drama based on a webtoon. Connect has a very atypical premise as it follows Ha Dong Soo, a special human being with the superpower to heal people, who unfortunately becomes a victim of human traffickers. They remove his eye and leave him for dead.

Dong Soo survives and later discovers that his stolen eye has been transplanted into a serial killer. Now he can witness everything the criminal does, which makes him want to stop the man from killing innocent people. The series is definitely a must-watch for the fans of dark dramas.

7. May It Please The Court (2022)

As the name of the series suggests, this is another legal drama. In the center of the story is No Chak Hee, a very dedicated lawyer who works in a big law firm, but is suspended because she fails to win an important case.

After that she starts working as a public defender and has to share an office with Jwa Shi Baek, another determined workaholic attorney. They immediately hate each other, but are forced to work together on a big case, which eventually brings them closer together.

8. Revenant (2023)

This fantasy drama revolves around a world where not only humans live. Demons have become a normal part of society, but of course nobody is happy about it. And when a student named Gu San-Yeong gets possessed by one, Yeom Hae-Sang, an exorcist, tries to save him. But in the meantime he has discovered a dark secret about the demon's past and his connection to both of them.

9. Broker (2022)

The story of Broker revolves around a woman who has just given birth and is having second thoughts about raising the baby on her own. She discovers a "program" that helps people like her get rid of their children by giving them a chance to live with another family.

So she puts her baby in this baby box and one of the "brokers" who runs the illegal business finds her. However, the story takes an unexpected turn when he begins to care for the little girl as if she were his own.

10. Shadow Detective (2022)

This is a perfect show for fans of dark thrillers with complicated storylines and unexpected twists. The story centers on a retiring detective who gets to solve one last case when he receives an anonymous call from a person who admits to killing his colleague.
