Looks like Homelander has rules for everyone except himself.

Summary:

  • In Gen V, the spinoff of The Boys, Homelander questions others for attacking their own kind.
  • This echoes a similar moment in The Boys season 3 where Homelander reproaches A-Train for killing a fellow supe.
  • Despite his words, Homelander himself has killed other supes, including Doppelganger, Supersonic, Blindspot, and Black Noir.

There is one particular scene in Gen V, The Boys spinoff, that echoes his hypocritical nature. And it’s not the first time Homelander said this exact same line.

In the finale of Gen V, Homelander confronts Marie with a question "What kind of animal are you? Do you like attacking your own kind?" This statement is particularly ironic considering Homelander's own history.

We've seen a similar instance in season 3 of The Boys, where he reproaches A-Train, saying, "How could you kill one of your own kind?" This recurring theme in his dialogues serves as a stark contrast to his own actions which is kind of funny.

Homelander Himself Killed Supes in Cold Blood

Despite his words, Homelander himself has a notorious record of killing other supes. Homelander killed Doppelganger. He killed Supersonic, a short-lived new member of The Seven, to give Starlight a lesson. He severely injured Blindspot, a blind contender for The Seven. Maybe he even died as a result.

And of course, Homelander murdered Black Noir for not telling him Homelander was Soldier Boy’s son. The biggests irony is that Homelander lectures A-Train about killing supes while casually sitting next to the helmet of Black Noir.

And those are only the instances we are aware of. His real supes kill count remains unknown.

As the leader of The Seven, Homelander embodies the epitome of superhero strength and leadership. However, his actions repeatedly undermine the very ideals he is supposed to uphold.

Fans on Reddit have pointed out how Homelander holds other supes to standards he doesn't apply to himself. It's like he's got a rulebook for everyone else, but when it comes to him, all bets are off.
