You can truly say the actors are just one of us sometimes.

It must be difficult to achieve the success of playing the Doctor in the iconic BBC series Doctor Who at the age of 26.

Being the youngest Doctor in the history of British television must have been difficult for Matt Smith, even though he's automatically proven his worth.

The actor had plenty of time to adjust to all the new pressures of the job, as his audition results were announced half a year before filming began.

And from what we can tell, Smith did not waste a single minute doing what fans know is the best way to learn the source material and expand the universe.

Matt Smith basically wrote fan fiction. The actor himself admitted as much when talking about his preparation for the big role on The One Show.

Don't get your hopes up: there was nothing dirty or overly dramatic, at least in the stories the actor elaborated on. Just a few episodes of The Doctor exploring the wonders of the universe with Albert Einstein at his side.

Smith also explained the ambitious choice of companion by saying that he was inspired by the book of Einstein's quotes and imagined how great it would be to have the most intelligent person ever travel with him.

Whether or not Matt Smith's fiction influenced the actual script of the Eleventh Doctor's episodes, we don't know.

However, it is a nice coincidence to see his numerous encounters with Albert Einstein throughout the series.

Not as a constant companion, though, but as a fellow party animal and fez enthusiast, The Doctor and Einstein made quite a chaotic duo.

What the actor couldn't predict were the amazing companions he actually had by his side throughout the series: without Amy Pond, Rory Williams, and, later on, Clara Oswald, the stories that they've been through wouldn't be half as exciting.

No offense to Einstein.

If you're feeling nostalgic and want to revisit the era of the Eleventh Doctor, you can stream the series on MAX.
