Not every Harry Potter actor has gone on to a successful career after the end of the saga.

In the Harry Potter movies, Durmstrang student Viktor Krum was played by Bulgarian actor Stanislav Yanevski. Although he continues his acting career, there is little known about him today.

In 2004, many universities in the UK held a casting for the role of Viktor Krum in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Stanislav was not interested in acting, but a school friend who was going to audition asked him to accompany him for moral support.

While waiting for his friend, Stanislav caught the eye of the casting director, who immediately noticed the athletic young man. A few days later, the agent contacted Stanislav and asked him to come to the audition. Stanislav decided to give it a try, and after three long auditions, the young man officially got the role, beating out over 600 candidates.

Yanevski's Acting Career After Harry Potter Wasn't Very Successful

For the next two years Stanislav disappeared from the screens and the actor's popularity began to decline. In 2007, the horror movie Hostel: Part 2 was released, in which Yanevski played a supporting role.

But the movie did not meet the studio's expectations – it had to compete with Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, which was released a week earlier. And even after its release on DVD, the horror film became famous only among a few connoisseurs of the genre.

Yanevski Appeared in the Fifth Harry Potter Movie, But His Scene Was Cut

For the next three years, the Bulgarian actor didn't participate in any projects until the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 in 2010. It featured a scene with an adult Viktor Krum, who appears at the wedding of Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour.

However, due to the length of the movie, it was decided to cut this scene from the theatrical release.

Yanevski Continued His Acting Career in Bulgaria

After that the actor acted only in Bulgarian projects such as Undercover, which ran from 2011 to 2016, and his most recent relatively big work on the screen was the Swedish movie Last Man Down released in 2021.

Yanevski enjoys motorcycles, mountain biking, and of course, like his most famous character, is still actively involved in sports.
