The actress kicked her career off with the 1980s’ major hit everyone is still talking about.

You may not see Alicia Witt on the screens that much now, but back in the day she showed up in more movies and shows than anyone can even remember.

The actress started a successful acting career when she was only 9 years old, yet her talent for blowing everyone away while on stage was recognized by David Lynch way earlier. This ultimately resulted in his decision to cast Witt for his 1984 epic space opera movie Dune, where the young actress portrayed Alia, a little sister of Kyle MacLachlan’s Paul Atreides.

Following the film’s immense success among viewers and critics, Witt continued her acting path several years later, starring in both movies and shows that ultimately got worldwide recognition.

In the movie industry, Witt gained more prominence after appearing in the 2001 sci-fi film Vanilla Sky, starring Tom Cruise, and the 2002 romcom movie Two Weeks Notice with Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant in the leading roles.

She then proceeded to collaborate with more of Hollywood’s biggest stars, working together with Al Pacino on the 2008 thriller 88 Minutes and with Rosamund Pike on the 2020 black comedy movie I Care a Lot.

Witt’s latest movie credits include the 2022 crime thriller Alice and the 2024 horror movie Longlegs, where she starred alongside Nicolas Cage.

Even with an abundant collection of internationally famous movies under her belt, Alicia Witt’s TV history is way more riveting. She kicked her television career off with a minor role in Twin Peaks ’ episode back in 1990, then starring in cameo roles in some old hits like The Sopranos, The Twilight Zone and CSI: Miami.
