They would rather believe in Daleks than this nonsense!

There is nothing more unbelievable than a show whose premise is entirely based on a time-traveling alien who takes it upon himself to constantly save the Earth from all the dangers in the universe.

But you'd be surprised to learn that viewers have found another detail in Doctor Who that beats any other fantasy.

Remember the heartbreak we all felt in the middle of series 7 when it was time to let go of Ponds? Well, sorry to remind you, but the Americans found something potentially even more shocking than the ending of that episode.

As the three travelers chill out on the grass of Central Park in the middle of New York, both Amy and the Doctor are busy reading.

However, while the Doctor is reading a novel by Melody Malone, which turns out to be River's, Amy is more interested in what's going on in the U.S., and holds up the New York dupe paper in front of her face.

While the scene is short, the most attentive fans were able to screenshot it and read what was supposedly in the headlines that day.

The sports section was the one that got the most attention, with a promising headline about the Detroit Lions winning the Superbowl.

If you are as far removed from human sports as the Doctor is, the irony of the moment is that to this day, the Detroit Lions are the only team that has not only never won a Superbowl, but never even played a single game.

Despite the team's existence throughout the Superbowl era, their success rate was always so low that they never made it to the championship.

Whether this was intentionally unrealistic or just part of the British perspective on American football, we may never know.

However, this little detail definitely added another layer of camp for all the U.S. Whovians out there.
