The original 1990 Home Alone, starring Macaulay Culkin as the resourceful (and sometimes sadistic) Kevin, is undoubtedly the best movie to watch every Christmas, including this one. But did you know that the comedy, beloved by more than one generation, contained more than a few hilarious scenes that were unfortunately cut?

Luckily, the Internet has made these scenes available for all to see, as a full 16 minutes of deleted footage has been posted to the Special Features YouTube channel. Some of the moments presented expand on those shown in the film, such as Harry (Joe Pesci) checking the 'security' of local homes in a fake police uniform. Others were not shown at all, but add no small amount of hilarious and heartbreaking context.

The duo of Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern was one of the main highlights of the movie: even though they played the villains, let's be honest, we all laughed at their humor and worried about their serious injuries from booby traps. As it turned out, there were supposed to be a lot more funny scenes with them, like Harry's almost philosophical musings about people becoming 'too cynical, too jaded' and the 'moral decay of contemporary society.' No, we certainly agree, given how the family treated Kevin, but in the context of having such reflections provided by a literal thief makes the scene incredibly funny and ironic.

They also had their own take on the song Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town. Now these are the ones who have definitely felt the Christmas spirit!

Where to Stream Home Alone?

If, after watching the deleted scenes, you have a renewed desire to watch one of the best Christmas comedies ever made, there are several ways to do so online. First, since Home Alone was produced and distributed by 20th Century Studios, which is now owned by Disney, the movie itself, as well as its two sequels, are now available on Disney+ — which makes sense, considering it's primarily a family story, right?

Fortunately, some networks will be showing the movie again this year.

For example, US residents will be able to see the movie on Freeform, which will air it on several consecutive days:
