A soundtrack for Marvel's Blade might just become Travis Scott's next big hit.

Travis Scott, the acclaimed hip-hop artist, songwriter, and record producer, has recently surprised everyone with his announcement. The rapper has expressed his desire to work on the soundtrack for the upcoming Blade reboot.

On X (formerly known as Twitter), Travis Scott expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "Woke up thinking I would love to do the soundtrack to Blade."

This statement has sparked a wave of excitement among both Travis's fans and fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The movie, starring the Oscar-winning Mahershala Ali in the role of Blade, is set to be released in February 2025. However, bringing Blade back to theaters hasn't been smooth. Under Yann Demange's direction, the film has faced numerous challenges, from writer changes to hiccups in pre-production.

With ongoing actors and writers strikes and reshuffling in the MCU schedule, there's a cloud of uncertainty regarding potential postponements. Some even fear that the movie might be eventually canceled.

But, despite these obstacles, the anticipation for the film is still strong, especially now, with the potential involvement of Travis Scott.

This wouldn't be Travis' first collaboration with Marvel. He previously contributed to the Black Panther soundtrack, a film celebrated for its profound cultural and musical resonance. For Black Panther, he teamed up with Kendrick Lamar to produce the song Big Shot.

Marvel Studios has a knack for weaving iconic hip-hop tunes into their narratives. The Black Panther series itself featured a galaxy of stars, from Kendrick Lamar and Rihanna to Khalid.

Another Marvel project, Netflix ’s Luke Cage, which is now considered to be not canon to the MCU, also featured a great hip-hop soundtrack, including Bulletproof Love by Method Man, a member of the iconic Wu-Tang Clan who also makes an appearance in the series.

While Scott's musical talents are evident, his career has seen its share of controversies, most notably the unfortunate events at his 2021 Astroworld festival.

But still, given his past triumphant alliance with Marvel for Black Panther and his significance in the music industry, it's plausible that his touch on Blade might as well become a reality.
