Tom Cruise Goes Insane on Set of Mission: Impossible 7, Crew Feels Scared
We all thought that no news about Tom Cruise's perfectionist shenanigans could surprise us at this point, but the actor still manages to do it… Somehow.
Tom Cruise's obsession with perfection is legendary in the movie industry, and those legends are not always positive.
The actor's famous for being a massive overachiever, and combined with his urge to control and micromanage every last bit of production and post-production, it can be incredibly hard to work with him.
Tom's always been doing his own stunts, sometimes as insane as climbing the tallest skyscraper in the world or running on top of the wing of an active plane.
He's been perfecting the crafts of an actor and a stuntman for decades, and it's safe to say that he's one of the best in the world. Everyone knows it… But it's not enough.
According to the insiders, Tom Cruise is still not content with his legacy and his achievements.
After breaking all records with Top Gun: Maverick, the actor wants to top his performance in that movie in the new Mission: Impossible, and he wants the seventh entry to be immaculate. Of course, it can only be this way if he does it.
We could only assume that the production crew wants the same; after all, those guys are getting paid for it.
But right now, the crew feels scared of Tom Cruise who's reportedly become more tyrannical than ever before and completely overtook the process.
"Tom is pushing the completion to the absolute limit in terms of deadlines and scheduling, and it's nerve-racking for everybody, especially on the business side," revealed an insider.
As Mission: Impossible is bound to hit the theaters this July, it means there are only two months left — and Tom Cruise is actively trying to make the most out of them.
"The [Mission: Impossible 7's] ending is still being shot, revised, and reimagined.
They're shooting M:I8 back to back — but M:I7 isn't finished and it's coming out in two months!" they added.
As Christopher McQuarrie recently put it, the filming of Mission: Impossible 7 has been pure chaos. For a perfectionist like Cruise, this must've been a tremendous stress — so now, he's putting everyone else on the crew through even more stress.
"Tom is obsessed with topping the performance of Top Gun: Maverick: that's the big brass ring for him on this movie — to make it the biggest Mission: Impossible ever and to use every penny and every minute to get it to that place," explained the insider.
We'll have to wait and see whether Tom Cruise's dreams come true when the movie comes out this July… Until then, we can only pray for the poor souls working under his direct and very frustrated supervision at the time.
