This Year at Hogwarts Was Undoubtedly Harry Potter's Worst, According to Reddit
It is difficult for fans to choose the worst time at Hogwarts for the famous wizard.
However, this particular school period stands out even in comparison to the Triwizard Tournament and Dumbledore's death.
The fifth year begins with Harry and his nasty brother Dudley being waited on by Dementors in the passageway. The horrible creatures tried to get rid of the boys, but the Chosen One managed to use the Patronus spell and destroy the entities.
However, Harry was a minor, so magic was forbidden for him outside of Hogwarts. Mr. Potter was about to be expelled.
The only rescuers were Dumbledore, who unexpectedly appeared at the court, and Arabella Figg, who was assigned by the headmaster to watch over the boy.
Throughout the year, Harry is haunted by eerie visions. Although the visions sometimes help him discover Voldemort's plans, they turn out to be the evil wizard's scheme to trap Potter.
Adding to Harry's troubles, the arrival of the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Dolores Umbridge, has brought a wave of repression to Hogwarts.
Appointed by the Ministry, Umbridge was more interested in enforcing strict rules than teaching practical magic. She banned all practical defensive spells, leading Harry and his friends to secretly form Dumbledore's Army.
Dolores' cruel treatment of students reached its peak when she caught Harry and his friends practicing defensive magic and decided to bring a torturous punishment in.
But the worst thing that happened to Harry was the loss of his godfather. Ever since the Prisoner of Azkaban, fans have been waiting for the boy to get away from the Dursleys and live with the person who truly loves him.
However, first Peter Pettigrew escaped and then Voldemort appeared to thwart those plans.
During the Battle of the Ministry of Magic, Sirius died, finally ending Harry's dreams of being reunited with his family.
Perhaps the Order of the Phoenix was the beginning of the end, as the Chosen One began to lose people close to him.
And if Cedric was just an acquaintance, then Dumbledore's subsequent death and banishment from Hogwarts were simply natural events after Sirius Black's passing.
