The Walking Dead Characters Who Surprisingly Made It To Show’s Finale
If these characters were killed off, fans would totally freak out.
Throughout its long run, The Walking Dead has surprised us multiple times with unexpected deaths that broke our hearts. But the show also managed to surprise us with unlikely survivors who made it to the very end. We are about to remember some of them.
Gabriel
Gabriel is one of the most surprising characters to make it to the end. He was a priest who had a hard time adjusting to the post-apocalyptic world, and he was often scared and in need of protection. But he turned into a one-eyed killing machine and became one of the fan-favorite characters.
In contrast, in the comics, Gabriel meets his death by Beta who stabs him in the gut and leaves him to be eaten by walkers.
Aaron
Aaron was another unlikely survivor. He was a former recruiter for Alexandria and he proved to be a good survivor and a valuable asset to the group. He also became a fan-favorite character, and fans were afraid that he would be killed off by the end of the series. Luckily, it didn’t happen.
Eugene
Eugene was a scientist who was initially seen as a coward. He was always trying to stay out of trouble and was often seen as a liability. He couldn’t protect himself and was a good candidate to die anytime.
But he eventually proved his worth. He became a real survivor, and we shouldn’t forget that if it wasn’t for Eugene, the war against the Saviors could have been lost.
Carol
Now it’s difficult to picture Carol dying anytime after season 5, but back in season 1 and 2, Carol was a scared former housewife who was afraid of her own shadow.
Carol eventually becomes an absolute savage of the show who saved the group multiple times. However, in the comics, Carol ends up committing suicide.
King Ezekiel
With his regal demeanor and pet tiger, Shiva, Ezekiel brought a unique flavor to the show. Although in the comics he was one of the Whisperers’ victims, with his head ending up on a pike, the show avoided this obvious twist and let Ezekiel survive till the very end.
