That’s what ‘creative differences’ really means.

One of the best things about most TV shows is that viewers don't know how they're made. The hectic environment of any film set would likely have changed the way fans view their favorite characters and stories, and the discussions between actors and directors would have forced them to choose sides.

However, the way the most beloved characters come to life is often through various arguments and discussions. This was the case with Theo James' Eddie in Guy Ritchie 's The Gentlemen. And hopefully, the show's crew for season 2 will keep the conversation open to add even more depth.

Will There Be The Gentlemen Season 2?

Even though there hasn't been any confirmation that Guy Ritchie's TV series will return for a second season, the Internet is already very excited about the show's comeback. Considering the warm welcome the Netflix audience gave to the first installment, and the number of days the show spent at the top of the platform's ratings, the renewal is more than possible.

Moreover, the season 2 finale definitely left a lot of doors open for the show to come back. Besides, season 2 may be just the push the actor and director need to finally see eye to eye on one of the most important things in Eddie's character development. So far, James' attempts to convince Ritchie of his idea have been completely fruitless.

“For me, again, you never emulate it because it’s one of the best films of all time, but the idea of The Godfather, that his soul is properly darkened, and me and Guy always had a little bit of a debate with this. I wanted, even in the first season, for Eddie to be a little darker than he is at the very end,” the actor explained.

While it must be frustrating not to see your creative ideas come to life right away, the way Eddie was left at the end of season 1 still leaves plenty of opportunity to bring the darker version of him to the screen in the second season. Even better, the change can be gradual, and fans will get to see the whole transformation in front of their eyes.

If you are interested in seeing that happen, or if The Gentlemen get to explore other branches of the story in season 2, be sure to stay tuned for any exciting news or behind-the-scenes updates. In the meantime, you can always re-watch season 1 on Netflix.
