Why was Pride Rock stricken with drought after Scar's rise to power in The Lion King... and was it actually Scar's fault?

The theory is that it was not Scar, as everyone believed, who caused the drought, but... Simba. So, let's figure it out.

After Mufasa's death, the audience was able to see him as a spirit in the sky during a conversation with Simba, from which it can be inferred that all kings go to the sky as spirits.

Throughout the animated movie, we can see that the clouds follow Simba wherever he goes.

After spending a lot of time with Timon and Pumba in the jungle (where, by the way, it rained a lot), Simba returns to the Pride Rock and we see clouds gathering behind him again.

And after a while, rain begins to fall on the Pride Rock, which is something its inhabitants have not seen for a long time.

The obvious conclusion that fans have drawn is that the cause of the drought was not Scar, but Simba, who left his home and people, and the spirits of former kings that bring rain followed him.

The fans liked the theory so much that they suggested that it should be accepted as canon. There were also some unexpected questions raised by revealing the animation in this way.

"What if the hyenas had killed Simba as Scar ordered? As Mufasa's brother, the crown would then have rightfully passed to Scar upon the death of Simba, Mufasa's only heir.

Would the rains have then stayed at Pride Rock? Furthermore, what if Scar knew about this quirk of the weather, thus making his kill order on Simba at least in part about saving the Kingdom?" Reddit user felonious_kite_flier asked.

This is not the first time that Disney has put a deeper meaning into a seemingly simple animation that is not immediately apparent, which can be seen in classic cartoons as well as in the latest ones.

And fans are grateful for such hidden meanings, because it only makes the viewing experience more interesting.
