What if The Flash had a chance to do something right and instead chose the option that pissed people off? Surely, this wouldn’t have ever happened with this movie?..

From the world’s most hyped-up movie ever, The Flash is rather quickly turning into a case study of how not to make movies. In just a few days, the Internet went from sharing articles about Tom Cruise praising the film for 15 minutes straight to trying to figure out how in the world The Flash’s creators had managed to mess up so badly.

From incredibly troubled production to protecting a problematic (to put it mildly) lead actor; from not including the cameo everyone was waiting for to including a cameo that insulted the actor’s memory; from spending over a third of the budget on marketing to putting together the worst CGI in over a decade… Welp.

At least, this will be a really useful and in-depth case study that will probably save future movies from making mistakes virtually every step of the way.

But general praise aside, let’s get specific. We’ve learned that throughout its production, The Flash had three versions of the ending and at this point, we shouldn’t really say it out loud, but the creators admittedly chose the wrong one.

We’ll avoid spoiling the current version of The Flash’s finale for you in case you haven’t seen the movie yet, but we can tell you that it’s the most recent change. The final ending that you can watch in the theaters was only shot six months ago after the new heads of DC arrived; but before that, there were two different versions.

In the original ending (and the leaked photos from the set confirmed it), only Sasha Calle’s Supergirl and Michael Keaton’s Batman were supposed to be in the courthouse. Before leaving DC, its previous bosses changed The Flash’s finale by adding two more cameos to the courthouse scene.

The second version featured Henry Cavill ’s Superman and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman in addition to Calle’s Supergirl and Keaton’s Batman. This is admittedly the version that would’ve satisfied the majority of the audience since it would’ve given a proper sendoff cameo to Cavill’s Man of Steel… But it never happened.

The new heads of DC arrived and decided to change the final sequence one more time. Once again, we don’t want to spoil it for those who haven’t seen the movie yet, but be sure of one thing: with this current ending, neither Cavill nor Gadot got their final sendoff — in fact, they were stripped from it for no objective reason.

And here’s the story on how to piss off two major actors’ fans just because you don’t think two steps ahead.

Especially Henry Cavill’s fans, of course, who haven’t been happy in many months due to their favorite’s controversial exits from both Superman and The Witcher which saw the actor get “d*cked around,” as James Gunn put it.
