The Flash Creators Claim Tom Cruise Called Them and Kept Praising the Movie for 15 Minutes Straight
At this point, The Flash is seemingly trying to answer the essential question, "Just how overpraised can an unreleased movie get until it's no longer funny?"
With all sorts of praise surrounding The Flash lately, it's become borderline comical. The movie's not even out yet, but the biggest names in the movie industry and beyond it are singing love songs to it.
At the same time, what the fans see in trailers is terribly outdated CGI and a few rounds of disrespect toward former DC heroes.
After The Flash received its daily dose of public admiration from titans like Zach Snyder and James Gunn, the creators of the movie decided to continue with the guns and invited the absolute top gun of the industry — Tom Cruise.
The Hollywood A-lister became one of the early viewers of The Flash… Take a wild guess which reaction from the man, the myth, the legend was reported?
Of course, according to the creators of The Flash, Tom Cruise was amazed by the beauty of the movie.
But if previously, the titans of the industry were simply praising the upcoming Scarlet Speedster film, Cruise is claimed to have personally called the creators to sing a 15-minute-long love song to The Flash!
"It's a very cynical industry, and to hear people that really have no skin in the game, because they have nothing to gain, just say something that lovely — in the case of Tom Cruise, he called us, talked for 15 minutes, praising Andy, praising the film, and it just feels very good because we really work very hard to make these movies," shared Barbara Muschietti, the producer of the movie.
Her brother Andy Muschietti, the director of The Flash, also shared just how much positive reviews from people like Cruise mean to him and his team.
"[We got] more confidence in the thing that we did, because the movie was finished by the time that [Tom Cruise] saw it, so it was a confidence boost if anything," he said.
At this point in time, we can't take all the reported praise seriously.
If you'll excuse us, we, too, watched the trailers, and like many fans, didn't fall in love with the quality of the visuals. It would be really weird if a perfectionist like Tom Cruise went on to completely ignore such obvious flaws…
But then again, who in their right mind would try to lie about Tom Cruise's reaction? We're confused, more than anything. Much like you, we'll have to see it to believe it.
