We hope to see it handled in the most graceful way possible.

The show about the life of England's Queen Elizabeth II was always going to be scandalous, no matter how hard the producers tried to soften the edges. However, it would also be highly entertaining, so Netflix decided not to play it safe and released it to the public in 2016.

The Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip series, which began with Claire Foy and Matt Smith and continued with Olivia Colman and Tobias Menzies and Imelda Staunton and Dominic West, has always been the focus of the show. However, as the family has grown, their children, Charles, Andrew and Edward, have also become a prominent part of the show.

One of the most scandalous events in the life of the royal family was the tragic death of Princess Diana, who was the wife of Prince Charles and the mother of two of their sons, William and Harry. Princess Diana was widely loved by the public, but there were always rumors about her strained relationship with the Queen herself.

As The Crown approached the timeline of Princess Diana's involvement in the royal family, many viewers were concerned about whether the show would do justice to her story. However, the fifth season showed that all worries were in vain, as Elizabeth Debiki, who portrayed Diana, and the writing team made sure that her story was told truthfully.

Unfortunately, the show is now approaching Diana's tragic death, so the show's producers, Andy Harries and Suzanne Mackie, have once again stepped forward to reassure viewers. The two producers made a statement during the Edinburgh TV Festival:

“The show might be big and noisy, but we’re not. We’re thoughtful people and we’re sensitive people. There were very careful, long conversations about how we were going to do it. <...> The audience will judge it in the end, but I think it’s been delicately, thoughtfully recreated,” Mackie said.

If you want to see how Netflix and the production team behind The Crown handled what may be the most controversial moment in the show to date, don't miss the release of season 6, which is set to drop later this year.
