The Boys Risks Ruining Ryan With The Most Obvious Finale
There's something much more meaningful that they could do instead.

With Ryan being the last straw that keeps both Homelander and Billy Butcher from losing the last crumbs of their sanity, it's no wonder that many think he will play the key role in how the story plays out.
While some think it would be logical to kill him off and have the final battle over his death, others think it would be too obvious to be true.
The Boys is many things, but "obvious" has never really been one of them, and no one wants to see that change now, 4 years into the show.
Besides, there are just too many more interesting possibilities for what could actually happen to Ryan.
Whatever happens to Ryan, it feels like it should be connected to Butcher's character development somehow. In that case, it would be interesting to see them reconcile and form some kind of father-son relationship.
Considering that Butcher is on the brink of death, this could be his chance to make things right. On the other hand, considering how chaotic The Boys is, fans have to think of something more unthinkable (ironic, we know).
Like the idea of Ryan somehow killing Homelander himself.
This could be a great shocker for the audience, as well as a way to close the circle of Butcher and Ryan's story, with Ryan accomplishing something Butcher tried so hard to do but couldn't.
Many believe that the chance of Ryan actually dying is relatively low, considering that not many shows are willing to include such sensitive events.
However, The Boys has never been a show that was afraid of public backlash, with many things being completely out of line with what you are used to seeing on TV.
After all, the deed can always be done off-screen, with only the consequences captured on camera.
Whether Ryan will die in season 4 or not, fans will have to wait and see.
