The Blacklist Repeated Supernatural's Dumbest Mistake Somehow, And Fans Can't Even
In what world would The Blacklist and Supernatural have something in common? Well, no need for multiverse here...
Supernatural was notoriously good up until its fifth season, and then it turned into a literal mess that lasted for ten more seasons. Many OG fans decided to drop the show, only occasionally taking a sneak-peek of what's going on in the fandom.
Turns out, some fans of The Blacklist, NBC's popular crime thriller, did just the same. Many people decided to bow out at some point after season 8, only to check out what happened in the series finale... and realize what a great decision it was to drop the show.
If you haven't seen the season 10 finale yet, then beware of spoilers.
If you have, then you know that our beloved Raymond Reddington did not survive the series finale, just like Dean Winchester, one of Supernatural's main characters. How on Earth are the two connected?
Well, the thing they both share is an incredibly stupid death that doesn't fit their character at all.
Reddington gets killed by a bull. Of all things, a bull kills Raymond 'Red' Reddington, who helped track down the world's most dangerous criminals and solved mind-bending cases. A bull.
Dean Winchester, who had been to actual Hell, Purgatory, Heaven, several dozens of alternate dimensions, and killed creatures from regular demons to, you know, Death himself... dies after getting impaled on a stick.
Care to guess which show has the quote's author this disappointed, Supernatural or The Blacklist? Because it kinda fits for both...
"Investing an entire decade watching and theorizing about a show that you all cared about only for it to end with a giant wet flatulence. I legitimately don't understand why the show runners couldn't be bothered to wrap everything up in the series finale," Redditor CelticWaifu96 said.
The answer is The Blacklist, but you know what we mean. The way iconic shows introduce powerful and impactful characters who are basically unstoppable, only to later stop them with the silliest possible thing is just hilarious.
With Supernatural, however, silly stuff was kind of expected, especially after season 10, when the creators clearly struggled to keep the story going. But The Blacklist was something fans put their high hopes into, only to receive the bull thing in the end.
The Blacklist season 10 will be available on Netflix for streaming, with the release date yet to be revealed. The final episode premiered on NBC on July 13.
