The actress will surely blossom in a dramatic role.

As much as many viewers feared that life in Hollywood would come to a halt due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, they were proven wrong.

While we may have lost a few titles in this fight for the rights of the entertainment industry's workers, the networks continued to operate and come up with more ideas for upcoming shows and their seasons.

Unfortunately, the number of months it took producers to find common ground with writers still affected the industry. But now that the WGA strike has been resolved and there are more professionals ready to go back to work, audiences can find out more about what to expect in the near future.

In her recent interview with Vanity Fair, Mayim Bialik opened up a bit more about the future of her passion projects, including the TV ones we all know and love. As it turns out, Blossom, a sitcom that focused on the life of an Italian-American teenager where Bialik played the lead character Blossom Russo, is expected to make a comeback:

“All of the cast and the original creator and producers are on board, and we believe a reboot can and should exist once the strike ends. We’re hoping to reboot it not as a sitcom. We want to bring back these interesting, deep characters — a child of divorce, a recovering drug addict, an alcoholic — to see them in a whole new way,” the actress shared.

The dramatic spinoff of everyone’s favorite sitcom sounds like a great idea, considering that Blossom's core audience has also grown up over the years and might relate to the experiences Bialik mentioned better. Plus, in an era of remakes and reboots, this take would make the project stand out from the crowd and do it justice in terms of numbers.

Unfortunately, as the SAG-AFTRA strike continues, there is no way for the project to get off the ground, as it would require quite a few comebacks besides Mayim Bialik as Blossom Russo herself. While we're sure Joey Lawrence, Michael Stoyanov, and Jenna von Oÿ would be just as happy to return, the flight for the actors' rights is still the top priority.

If you are interested in seeing Blossom back on the big screen, keep an eye out for more news and behind-the-scenes updates on the reboot.
