TBBT's Friendship We All Overlooked (Because We're Terrible People)
Sometimes the best relationships are the most unexpected ones.
The Big Bang Theory started out as a sitcom focusing on the lives of four nerdy friends. But over the years, it evolved into a complex show with a lot going on.
At first, the story was about the socially awkward Howard, Leonard, Raj and Sheldon trying to keep up with the struggles of the world. But then they grew into these amazing characters with rich personal lives and all that.
The show has given us a lot of different relationships. The most obvious were Leonard and Penny, then Sheldon and Amy, and later Howard and Bernadette. But there have also been several unexpected friendships, outside of the group of four, that have developed over the course of the show.
The first unexpected one was Sheldon and Penny. At first it seemed that Sheldon was really annoyed with her (well, no surprise there), but over time they really bonded. Penny had a kind of comforting effect on Sheldon, and that wasn't something that usually happened with him.
But it turns out that Sheldon made another female friend on the show (except for Amy), but we almost didn't notice because there weren't that many moments that showed us how close they really were.
It seems that some fans are really obsessed with Sheldon and Bernadette's friendship. And there are a lot of reasons for that. Well, for starters, they don't insult each other very much. Also, Sheldon seemed to really respect Bernie's intellect and her accomplishments as a scientist.
But more than that, in those rare moments with her, Sheldon seems more like a decent human being, capable of being a good friend.
“One of my favorite moments between these two is when Bernie was telling the story about how she felt like a bad mum because Hallie wouldn’t stop crying so Sheldon looked up on his phone how to make new moms feel better, then patted her on the head and told her she was doing a good job”, Redditor jmt2589 said.
It's really sad that they don't have that many scenes together, but they really hit it off when they share them!
