Star Wars Fans Think Andor's Key Character Was Killed Off-Screen
Unlike other heroes of the show, he did not appear in Rogue One, and there is little additional information about him. Perhaps the new season will shed some light on the details, but for now, the Rebel leader remains a very mysterious figure.
Some of the characters came directly from the Star Wars spin-off that takes place between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, but we did not see Luthen Rael there.
The role was created specifically for Andor, and he has a lot of secrets that are worth exploring further.
But then again, it's worth remembering that if he wasn't alive in the first part of George Lucas' space opera, he either died or disappeared somewhere and didn't get involved in the rebellion.
One theory suggests that Luthen was killed by a group of allies who were unhappy with his leadership.
This speculation is supported by the fact that Rael was known as a strict ruler who did not care about the lives of others.
The rebels may have seen Luthen as a threat to their cause and decided to take matters into their own hands.
Another theory is that Rael was assassinated by one of his own advisors. There are extraordinary people under his control: the Senator's sister, an antique shop assistant who runs most of the operations, and even the Imperial employee whose family is being held hostage by Rael.
Each of them may have their own secret motives, whether to save the children or to take a vacant seat to fight Palpatine, but with their own methods.
Some fans predict that after the space battle, the Empire will somehow be able to locate Rael's ship and find out all the information about him.
But the most common theory is about Dedra Meero — a cruel Lieutenant Supervisor and also the main antagonist of the show.
Fans believe that she will capture the rebel leader.
Andor is like the first time in Star Wars that we get to see Palpatine's minions at work, and they were shown to be a hardworking and relentless crew who shared the ideology of the Empire but had their own greedy beginnings.
And Dedra is one of those characters who will burn herself out until she gets what she wants, so it may be difficult for Rael to escape.
Of course, there is no concrete evidence to support any of these theories. However, viewers have dug deep into Andor history, analyzing every detail they can find to piece together the puzzle of Luthen's death.
The upcoming installment will provide some answers, but due to the writers' strike, Andor season 2 has no release date yet.
