Squid Game Season 2 Release Window Confirmed: Here’s All You Need to Know
The biggest TV hit of recent years is closer than you think.
It's been almost three years since Squid Game debuted on Netflix, and despite a slightly lackluster finale with obvious hints of a second season, it has definitely become one of the brightest TV series events in recent years.
Season 2 Release Window
We've been waiting for several years and the good news has finally arrived – according to actor Lee Jung-jae, who plays the lead role, the second chapter of Squid Game will be released on Netflix this December.
The creators of the show have yet to reveal any details about the plot of the second season, but based on first look photos and rare comments from the cast and crew, several theories can be formed about where the story will go.
Gi-hun Defeats the Host And Wears the Mask Himself
Gi-hun has transformed from a compulsive gambler to a self-assured survivor of the game. Obviously, defeating the game's Host will be his next step, but it's also likely that he'll don the mask that his opponent previously wore.
If this happens, Gi-hun's future destiny could take several paths. The first is to terminate the games and demolish the company from the inside out using his new position. The second is to maintain the apparatus of evil and employ it as a means of retribution against those he views as wicked.
Squid Game Turns Out to Be a Worldwide Organization
It will appear as though Gi-hun has won when he destroys the leader. It might turn out, however, that South Korea is merely one of this organization's branches.
Similar tournaments can be held all over the world, and they are all organized by the same people, and the Host is just one of a hundred of the same puppeteers.
Squid Game Season 2 Won't Show Much of The Game
Squid Game's first season was a hit, but it's unlikely that the story will take place in the same location. This twist won't stun viewers as much because one of the most significant moments of the first chapter was the revelation that the games result in the losers' real deaths.
Rather than taking part in the next game directly, Gi-hun might be in the background or close by, pulling strings while a fresh round of players tries to make it through the competition.
