So What Happened to Kunal Nayyar After Big Bang Theory Ended?
English-born, Indian actor Kunal Nayyar became a household name almost overnight, playing the lovably awkward Rajesh "Raj" Koothrappali on Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady's The Big Bang Theory in 2007.
For 12 seasons, fans adored Raj for his quirks, bad luck in love, and warm, tender heart. Hilariously not being able to speak to women unless drinking alcohol in the earlier seasons, everyone watched him slowly but surely regain his confidence with the opposite sex. And as much as everyone wanted to see Raj find his true love, he got an even happier ending that spoke to his immense growth as a character.
By declining a proposal of marriage from his love interest because he was able to see that it was not right for him, the old, needy Raj was finally left behind, allowing him to become the man he needs to be.
But what has Nayyar been up to since Big Bang wrapped in May 2019? The short answer is plenty! He went straight from playing Raj to taking a film role as Dr. Robin Sathi in the independent film Sweetness in the Belly.

And he delivered, despite the series receiving criticism for being seen as shallow, Nayyar had nothing but consistently positive reviews for his believable performance.
Nayyar has also starred in The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry, a dramatic comedy film based on Gabrielle Zevin's acclaimed novel. The movie landed on Prime Video in late October 2022 and has received positive reviews from critics and fans alike.
He has been married to model, actress and Femina Miss India 2016, Neha Kapur since 2011 and with a net worth estimated to be between $45 million and $75 million and the work still coming his way, he is not even close to slowing down. He has been open about his struggles with mental health over the years and is deeply committed to supporting this cause. Most recently, he has taken to Instagram to auction a very special one-on-one Zoom chat with him to raise money and awareness for mental health.
It seems the ending of The Big Bang Theory was just the beginning for Kunal Nayyar and fans cannot wait to see what he has in store next!
