Smile 3: Is It Confirmed & What Will It Be About?
Most likely, the creepy smiling creature's journey is not over yet.
Smile 2 ended with a shocking twist and it was a clear hint to Smile 3. Let's take a look at the theories about what will happen in the third part and whether anyone will be able to defeat the creepy smiling creature.
The Events of Smile 2 Finale Could Literally Lead to Apocalypse in Smile 3
In the movie Smile 2, pop star Skye became the new host of the smiling creature. She met paramedic Morris, whose brother died because of the demon. Morris suggested that the evil spirit could be defeated by the death of the host – including a clinical, "temporary" death.
Skye decided to undergo the procedure too late. The entity had already taken over her mind. Sky awoke on stage in front of a crowd of fans. The demon forced her to take her own life, passing the curse on to the audience.
In Smile 3 – if it is confirmed – the creators can tell about the consequences of the fatal concert. Usually, the demon transmits a virus that forces the victims to commit suicide or murder in public. This means that the audience at Skye's concert can be infected and spread the virus throughout the country – and then the world. It is unlikely that everyone can be saved.
Smile 3 Should Reveal the Background of the Demon
We know too little about this monster. What if it cannot "reproduce" and chooses only one host? Or does it become weaker when it splits? There is also the possibility that the demon only infects those who meet its criteria.
The smiling entity haunts people who blame themselves for some tragic event. The evil spirit devours the host's bad thoughts, driving them mad and killing them when there is nothing else to feed on.
The process takes less than a week, so the action of the third part will unfold shortly after the end of the second. Of course, the creature can pounce on anyone in the audience, even the smallest of sins.
Smile 3 Estimated Release Date
At the moment, Smile 3 has not yet been confirmed and therefore has no release date. The first Smile earned $217 million worldwide on a budget of $17 million. The second one earned an impressive $46 million in its first week of release; $28 million was invested in its production.
With such success, at least one more installment is likely to be approved. Considering that the first two Smiles were released in 2022 and 2024, the third one should be expected in 2026.
