That's not a normal office job, is it? At the same time, the workers themselves do not know the purpose of their activities, but redditors seem to have found the ideal explanation for this strange sorting of numbers.

The Lumon Workers Are Trying to Resurrect Kier

According to the redditor fillgates, the employees of this Lumon department are trying to resurrect Kier Eagan, the company's founder, and the show actually has a number of details that fit perfectly with this theory.

Perhaps Kier exists only as a data set, and the workers collect his personality, or some semblance of AI, from the data they see and put in bins. The sculpture of Kier is the embodiment of the Four Tempers: woe, frolic, dread, and malice.

On Mark's computer, you can see that in folder #02 there are four scales with the following names: WO – Woe; FC – Frolic; DR – Dread; MA–- Malice. According to Kier, the essence of each person is Tempers that the workers distribute.

And the severance is necessary so that the innies become a blank slate and do not project their own experiences onto the personality of Kier.

Strange Gifts And Parties Are Part of The Resurrection Process
