Seems Like Minx Has Got New Female Hero To Worship Instead Of Joyce
Is it really the end of Joyce’s era?
Minx is probably the most controversial show to come out in recent years. The show premiered on HBO Max in May 2022 and received a lot of mixed reviews.
Many people liked the idea of the show because it was new and brutally honest. But there were also plenty of viewers and critics who were deeply offended by the number of exposed male genitals and the overall story.
That’s why the company decided to cancel the show after its first season. But luckily for the fans, the Starz network picked up the show and continued it. Season 2 was released on July 21 this year.
So far we have seen what Joyce Prigger, the editor of the Minx, has been able to achieve thanks to her assertiveness and true belief in what she is doing. Although at the beginning of the show she acted like this uptight woman who faints when she hears the F-word, later on she turned into a real shark of the media world.
Though Prigger has come a long way and changed her personality for good, it was clear in the most recent episode that she is still full of herself and quite self-centered. This is especially evident in her interactions with her sister Shelly.
Shelly is actually portrayed as a damaged soul who eventually realizes her worth and slowly starts her journey towards the person she wants to be. And fans seem to like the way the table had turned for Shelly.
She is now a talented writer who has finally found her path in life and is ready to put down anyone who makes her feel wrong. And yes, that includes her sister Joyce. In the episode This is Our Zig she finally tells her to open her eyes and see someone other than herself.
Well, there are still two episodes left in the season that will tell us if Joyce understood that she was wrong for so long and never fully appreciated her older sister and all the sacrifices she made for her.
The next episode will air on September 1 on Starz.
