Sandman 2 Shooting Schedule Confirms Fans' Worst Fears
Looks like the wait for the second season may be excruciatingly long.
After weeks of anxiety and fear in the Sandman fandom, Netflix has finally confirmed that the Neil Gaiman adaptation will return for a second season, but it looks like we'll have to wait another two years to finally see it.
According to Midgard Times, The Sandman season 2 will begin filming in London on June 20, 2023.
In October of the same year, the first part of the production will be finished, only to start again in January 2024 and finish in April 2024.
If this is to be believed, it's highly unlikely that we'll get the second season any earlier than 2025. However, the reported shooting schedule has not been officially confirmed.
The outlet estimates that if post-production takes just as long as it did for the first season, then The Sandman sequel could hit small screens in spring 2025.

However, fans are not ready to give up on the possibility of seeing the second season of The Sandman a little sooner.
Some people note that if the filming is indeed going to be split into two parts, then it's entirely possible that the new season will also be released in two chapters.
"If they're taking breaks in production it seems they could release 1 half and then the 2nd half which then could take us into 2025. I still think even that could be a stretch, but depending how much post production is involved maybe," Redditor The_Firmament said.
Splitting the seasons in two parts is nothing new in the TV industry. Netflix did that with Stranger Things, and more recently with You.
Given that The Sandman has been quite a success, it's possible that the network would want to hype the fandom up with a little (or not so little) hiatus between the two parts of the second season.
Without the official updates from Netflix or Neil Gaiman, who exec produces the series, it all remains a speculation. Gaiman has not commented on the filming schedule rumors, and neither has Netflix.
The release date is also yet to be scheduled.
