With Marvel, you always have to tread carefully: you never know what those insidious executives are up to. One moment, you're alive and well, the other, you're already out of the game.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is the largest fictional on-screen universe ever, and it keeps expanding every year, adding more and more characters and stories from the comic or coming up with new ones. There's seemingly no stopping this insane superhero machine, and millions of people all over the world are quite delighted at that.

The key Marvel actors are living their best lives: they are worldwide superstars, they have everything one could wish for and even more, and they have a great community of colleagues that's virtually ever-growing. That's a great way to live, isn't it, now?

Admittedly, not everything is as perfect as it seems.

Samuel L. Jackson has been an essential part of the MCU for many years: he plays Nick Fury, the one and only secret agent that has to deal with all those pesky superheros, gods, aliens, and whatnot. Despite his indisputable significance to the Marvel Universe, Jackson admits that he's constantly afraid that he — or, rather, Nick Fury — will get killed off at some point.

“My biggest concern with Marvel was trying to keep them from killing me more than anything else,” the actor shared with RollingStone.

The potential death of Nick Fury always has the actor on edge, and every time he received a call from Marvel, he was convinced that his beloved character was going to die.

“When they called me in to tell me what’s going on, I always thought they were trying to kill me. They didn’t let me go to Wakanda, which I was kind of upset about. How could Nick Fury not know about Wakanda? They said, ‘Well, you do know but you can’t go,'" explained Jackson.

So far, his concerns have been nothing but concerns. Admittedly, Marvel is not getting rid of Nick Fury anytime soon: after all, they just gave him a standalone series...granted, it was rather terrible and hated.
