This time around, the show seems to be undergoing significant changes.

Although the seventh season of the popular adult cartoon is definitely on its way, it might not be the one we are used to seeing.

In the wake of domestic abuse allegations against the former series creator and Rick and Morty voice star Justin Roiland, the show will be undergoing significant restructuring for its upcoming seventh season.

Roiland was fired from Adult Swim, and although the charges were dropped, the controversy has tarnished his reputation and the future of the show.

In spite of the departure of Justin Roiland, Rick and Morty will continue to entertain the viewers with the upcoming season 7 as the season is already in production. Even though details about the new season, including casting, episode count and plot, are still under wraps, we can already predict what to expect.

The season 6 finale hints at what's to come, as Rick reveals that he is determined to find his original counterpart, Rick Prime, and avenge the death of his wife and daughter. This means that the main plot of the upcoming season will revolve around Rick hunting down his enemy and finally getting his long-awaited revenge.

As for the main supporting cast of Rick and Morty, all of them except Justin Roiland will return to their iconic roles. Expect to hear Chris Parnell, Spencer Grammer, and Sarah Chalke ready to continue the Rick and Morty journey once again. Replacing Roiland and voicing Rick, Morty, and other supporting characters he brought to life still remains unclear.

Although the release date for Rick and Morty Season 7 has not yet been announced as well, it may follow the trend of previous seasons and premiere about a year after the end of the previous season. This means that if the show runners stick to the trend, we might be able to see our favorite characters back on the big screen in December of this year.

While the news about the upcoming season may seem disappointing at first glance, as the show has lost its main voice and important figure of the show, Dan Harmon, the co-creator of Rick and Morty, is not going anywhere.

He is expected to take over the duties of showrunner, writer, and producer for season 7, showing his proven competence as a series creator. So Rick and Morty fans can rest assured that season 7 is on its way, and it's going to be just as good as the ones that came before it.
