Resident Alien Star Joined Reddit Just to Make One Fan Happy

Since its launch back in 2021, Syfy’s comedy drama show Resident Alien has been thriving with immense support coming from its big fandom, but it seems like there may be a chance for the series to get even more potential viewers.

Though Resident Alien’s third season came to its end earlier this year, there’s still a lot to talk about regarding the show’s renewal for a fourth season and especially its lead actor’s heartwarming message to a fan who previously lamented “blowing” a meeting with him.

Several days ago, a Reddit user posted a lengthy comment recounting the story of her getting to meet Resident Alien’s Alan Tudyk, an event she was looking forward to, but eventually felt like hadn’t happened in the way she would want it to.

According to the user, she was desperately waiting to see Tudyk at Fan Fest in Boston just to tell him that Resident Alien was the first ever show to make her laugh after her husband had passed away earlier this year.

She then went on to say that the actor had had a lot of visitors that day and looked pretty exhausted, but she nonetheless approached Tudyk and, instead of revealing the heartbreaking truth she’d prepared, ended up making “a dumb Firefly joke” while Tudyk was signing a picture for her.

The user then revealed that she felt horrible after this and, knowing that the actor would most likely never hear this story in his life, she still wanted to share it with other fans that could offer her some sympathy.

What happened next came as a huge surprise not only to the unlucky fan, but also to the rest of the community. The Reddit thread suddenly got a new comment posted by Alan Tudyk himself who presumably had registered in the media once he’d become aware of the situation.

The actor started his message by saying that his friend had shared this story with him and he felt sorry for the fan who thought she had missed an opportunity to pour her heart out to her favorite show’s actor.

Tudyk then admitted that, despite the tragic background of the whole story, it still “makes me feel like my work, which I appreciate getting to do, has worth beyond the Hollywood hustle of it all” and later on invited the fan to see him again as he would “love to say thank you in person.”

The actor also attached a picture of himself at the Fan Fest, stating that he was still tired, yet more than eager to reconnect with the heartbroken fan once again.

The story shared multiple times across the internet indeed conquered everyone’s hearts, with another Reddit user revealing that they’d been a fan of Alan Tudyk for a long time, but the actor’s kindness and personal desire to reach out to those who love what he does “just makes me dig in deeper in my desire to see him thrive.”

Resident Alien’s upcoming fourth season is already getting a good promo ahead of the release sometime in the future.
