Reddit Picks Better Call Saul's Best Monologue, And We Couldn't Agree More
Reddit suggests that this scene from Better Call Saul might help you if you feel depressed.
With the release of Better Call Saul in 2015, Vince Gilligan not only expanded the Breaking Bad universe but also made people argue which series is the best.
Vince did a great job telling us about the past of a criminal lawyer James McGill, also known as Saul Goodman.
Better Call Saul is a rare example of a series that only got better with each season. The writing of the series is definitely one of its best parts.
There is hardly a single episode that wouldn't deliver some great dialogues or entertaining action scenes.
But what is the best scene in the series? One Reddit user asserted that Howard Hamlin's speech right before his death is the most powerful one, and we couldn't agree more.
The scene inspired the user and helped them out through their depression.
In the first season of the series Howard Hamlin originally was portrayed as a snobby greedy lawyer that cares only about himself.
However, towards the end of the series we can see a character development and we can see the struggles that Howard tries to overcome.
On the other hand, we see Jimmy who developed in a worse manner on his way of becoming a notorious Saul Goodman.
With Kim by his side Jimmy really did Howard dirty, as one of the Reddit users points out correctly. What we heard from Howard during the last minutes of his life was a speech of a man who does not give up:
"I will land on my feet. I will be okay." That is why some people might find this speech relatable and even helpful.
Unfortunately, Howard wouldn't be okay, as he died a couple of minutes after his powerful speech. And many of you are likely to agree that it took us by surprise and actually made us feel really sorry for Howard.
If it was Howard Hamlin from the first seasons, a few people would care if he died back then.
But he died right after he deserved our sympathy, when we saw the struggle this man goes through, still not willing to give up.
The writers definitely deserve credit for such a well-written and heartbreaking moment.
Hopefully, we can have the same level of self-belief as Howard, and not encounter Lalo Salamanca by any chance.
