Rainn Wilson Falls Victim to The Office's Most Iconic Prank Again, 19 Years Later

Pranks have always been one of the most remarkable aspects of the show, with many of them being repeated around the world. These obviously include Jim Halpert’s pranks on Dwight Schrute, the office’s main fighter for justice and pain in the neck.

It resulted in Dwight's actor, Rainn Wilson, often getting pranked in real life too, during the public events and reunions he visits. However, some of Jim's antics follow him even when he doesn’t expect it, and he has recently seen another joke made on him.

During a trip to Florence, Italy, the actor ordered room service and was surprised to find his cutlery encased in red Jell-O. Wilson then shared the picture of his knife and fork lying inaccessible next to his meal via Instagram, to greater public amusement.

The Office’s fans have already guessed the iconic scene from the 2005 pilot episode to which the hotel’s crew called back. Wilson’s Dwight here opens a drawer of his desk to find his stapler put in yellow Jell-O by Jim (portrayed by John Krasinski ), hilariously feigning innocence while snacking on jelly on his own.

Dwight then complains about it to their boss, Michael Scott (Steve Carell), who makes fun of him together with Jim, assuring his assistant “to eat it out of there”. At the end of the scene, Jim kills the audience apologizing with a phrase, later becoming iconic.

“Dwight, I’m sorry, because I have always been your biggest flan,” says The Office’s cunning pranker, with Michael, as well as the audience, bursting out with laughter.

This sitcom’s scene is considered one of the funniest and, besides, most essential ones, as it’s the very first prank Jim performed on Dwight that set the bar high for the following jokes. It’s loved and recalled not only by fans, but by the actors themselves.

“Haha!!! That is so wonderful and funny! ❤😂 I hope you left a giant tip (in jello!),” commented on Wilson's recent post Ed Helms, who played Andy Bernard in the show.
