One Time Bonnie Wright Almost Went 'Hysterical' on Harry Potter Set
Being a child actor in a hugely popular franchise is stressful enough.
Bonnie Wright, who portrayed Ginny Weasley in the iconic Harry Potter movies, was among the franchise's kids who had to deal with quite a lot of hate.
Not every Harry Potter fan is completely happy with her portrayal of the Weasley sister, though that was not necessarily Wright's fault, but rather the writers' reluctance to give her version of Ginny at least a glimpse of her character's personality from the books.
However, Wright still managed to enjoy her time in the wizarding world, having been a part of every movie. One particular time, however, was quite challenging for the young actress.
In 2020, Wright appeared on the podcast Normal Not Normal (then titled Double Trouble), with her on-screen brothers, James and Oliver Phelps, who portrayed Fred and George Weasley.
She recalled a particular scene from the Order of the Phoenix, which was set in the Room of Requirement at Hogwarts, where the Dumbledore's Army, led by Harry Potter, practiced their Defense Against the Dark Arts.
"I liked it, and then I got really claustrophobic in it ... Towards the end, it was too many people in one room, like it got a bit hysterical. But I think that's why I like it because I think it was such a specific time when everyone was just like annoying teenagers," Bonnie revealed.
Hopefully, it was not as hysterical as it was in the movie, when the entire Dumbledore's Army was captured by Dolores Umbridge and her minions, huh?
Still, Wright admits she had a lot of fun filming the Dumbledore's Army scenes.
We enjoyed them as well, especially considering that they were practically the final moments of Harry and his friends learning, you know, magic at Hogwarts.
After some brief Potions lessons in The Half-Blood Prince, it all turned into one big Horcrux hunt for the Golden Trio and the rest of Dumbledore's army.
The Harry Potter movie franchise ended in 2011 after eight movies, but it's definitely too soon to say goodbye to the Wizarding World.
HBO has recently announced that a book-accurate TV series reboot is on the way, and whether or not you like the idea, it's nice to see our favorite magical universe still thriving.
