Why would the show want to off Negan's wife?

Did you catch the premiere of The Walking Dead spinoff series, Dead City?

While the show definitely brings the thrilling post-apocalyptic vibes we love to New York, there is one thing that left many fans feeling disappointed and puzzled.

In the final season of the original show, we were introduced to Negan's new wife, Annie, and learned that she was pregnant.

It was a surprising twist that got us excited about exploring Negan's softer side and seeing how his character would evolve.

However, Dead City didn't quite live up to those expectations. When Maggie asked Negan about Annie and their child, he simply looked away without saying a word.

This moment hinted at something tragic having happened to them. The potential death of Negan's new family left many fans disappointed.

Adding to the mystery, we also discovered that Negan is hunted down by the marshals of New Babylon. He is accused of murdering "the magistrate" and four other individuals.

While we don't have all the details yet, there seems to be a connection between these allegations and what might have happened to Annie and their child.

The absence of any substantial information about Annie's fate, coupled with Negan's silence and the pending charges against him, has left fans feeling frustrated.

People are getting worried that Annie and her child were killed off-screen just like Negan and Annie got together off-screen.

However, we should also understand that suspense and unanswered questions are a vital part of storytelling, and Dead City is just getting started.

On the other hand, this particular plotline surrounding Negan's wife and child feels like a missed opportunity to delve deeper into his character, if they really died.

While it's too early to pass final judgment on Dead City, the lack of resolution regarding Annie's fate and Negan's silence has left a bittersweet taste in our mouths.

Fans hope that future episodes will shed light on what really happened, providing closure and satisfying their curiosity.

The Walking Dead: Dead City episode 2 is scheduled for this Sunday, June 25, on AMC.
