One Piece Season 2 Just Added the Greatest Horror Actor of Our Time to Its Cast

One Piece is a rare success for Netflix. After a string of failed anime adaptations like Cowboy Bebop and Death Note, it's more than nice to see the streaming giant produce not just a decent, but an impressive adaptation.

One of the main ingredients for the project's success was the show's cast: with rare exceptions, the images turned out to be surprisingly accurate. Especially noteworthy are Iñaki Godoy, playing Luffy, and Jeff Ward, playing Buggy.

Godoy seems to have been born for the role of the future pirate king: it is almost impossible to imagine anyone else in the role, as the young actor managed to convey the endless optimism and passion for justice that Luffy is famous for.

But Ward's role as the clown pirate Buggy differs from the original source: in the Netflix version, he seems much more sinister and dangerous, which only works to the character's advantage. Plus, Ward has managed to make Buggy as funny as he should be.

Season 2 Cast is Revealed

Netflix recently unveiled the cast for the second season of the show, which proved that the creators of One Piece are not going to slow down. Jazzara Jaslyn will play Miss Valentine, Camrus Johnson will play Mr. 5, Daniel Lasker will play Mr. 9.

But the main success of the casting director was probably the actor for the role of Mr. 3 – David Dastmalchian.

One Piece Season 2 Just Got One of the Best Modern Actors

If you didn't know this brilliant actor a year ago, you have definitely seen his face just lately – David played the leading role in one of the biggest horror hits of last and this year – Late Night with the Devil, praised by Stephen King himself.

David Dastmalchian is the main gem of Late Night with the Devil. Having appeared in an incredible number of the most popular films of recent years (mostly horrors), from Marvel-produced to Oppenheimer, the actor has always remained in the background, usually playing villains.

Late Night with the Devil is his main performance, his revenge for all those years in the shadows. What many vaguely suspected, but never had a chance to verify, was finally confirmed: Dastmalchian is not just a wonderful actor, but one of the best.

So we can be sure of one thing about the second season of One Piece – the acting will not disappoint us, and may even reach a new level.

One Piece Season 2 does not have an exact release date yet, it is only known that it will not drop on Netflix before 2025.
