One Crazy General Hospital Fan Theory That Explains Spencer's Obsession with Ace

There is no doubt that Spencer is one of the most popular General Hospital characters of the current generation. He charms viewers with his endless charisma, his caring attitude toward his brother, and his beautiful romance with Trina. Although he's not completely flawless, fans root for his happiness.

Sometimes, however, even his best qualities are played for laughs. This is especially noticeable when it comes to Ace, his little brother, who always turns out to be on the opposite side of the scale from Trina.

Although speculation about Ace's paternity began long ago, when it was revealed that Nikolas Cassadine was not Ace's father, the audience couldn’t be sure anymore what kind of relation he had to Spencer. If Spencer turned out to be the father, it would certainly explain the extra attention he pays to the baby.

But it would also mean a huge conflict with Trina that the couple might not survive. Trina may be sweet and attentive, and the audience can see her softer side, but that doesn't make her ready to take on the responsibilities of a stepmother anytime soon. Besides, a breach of trust like that would probably be too hard to overlook.

Many General Hospital fans feel that the writers have backed themselves into a corner that will be very hard to get out of. While the bond that is forming between Ace and Spencer is adorable, no matter who they are to each other, it would be insanely hard to get Spencer to take the baby back without making him look like a bad guy.

And if he continues to care for him with the same intensity, it could lead to way too many concerns and suspicions... But maybe that is what General Hospital wanted to happen all along.
