And now, a week ago, an intriguing post appeared on Instagram, according to which none other than Martin Henderson will appear in the new season not only as an actor, but also as a director. It is not yet known if it will be one episode or several, but it is an important event not only for us, fans of the series, but also for Henderson himself, as it is his directorial debut. Of course, it wasn't just the viewers who congratulated the actor in the comments, but his co-stars as well. According to the comments, Ben Hollingsworth, Kandyse McClure and Colin Lawrence all gave their support.

When Will Virgin River Season 6 Be Released?

It typically takes about 7-10 months from the time Virgin River is filmed to the completion of post-production (which, unlike the VFX-heavy series, doesn't demand a lot of tinkering): Season 4 premiered nearly eight months after production wrapped, and Season 5 was released ten months after the filming. The upcoming chapter of Virgin River will be much shorter, consisting of 10 episodes, similar to the first three seasons.

According to Deadline, Virgin River Season 6 won't be released until 2025, like most of Netflix's other major franchises, including One Piece, Stranger Things, Wednesday, Sweet Magnolias, and others. In Virgin River's case, the reason may be due to weather conditions in British Columbia, which significantly delayed the production start date.

'We're going to start as soon as the Vancouver weather allows. So hopefully

in the spring is what I've been Hearing,' Breckenridge told Deadline in 2023.

On February 22, 2024, however, it was announced that filming had kicked off, as the official Virgin River Instagram account shared a photo of Henderson and Breckenridge holding a clapping board. Filming is expected to wrap up sometime in May.

Based on all this, we can assume that the release on Netflix won't happen until January 2025, although much more realistic predictions say Q2 or Q3 2025 at the earliest. While little is known about the upcoming events beyond what was shown in the Christmas specials released on November 30, 2023, showrunner Patrick Sean Smith has confirmed that the action will take place months after the previous season.
