New Nicolas Cage Comedy Boasts A Perfect 100% On Rotten Tomatoes
Seems like everybody's favorite weird actor is back on track! New Nic Cage film 'The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent', which stars actor in his most challenging role to date, just got a first word from critics, and it's a perfect score.
The film is centered on Nicolas Cage himself, traveling to make a paid appearance at some billionaire's (Pedro Pascal ) party. Turns out that the billionaire is a drug kingpin, and CIA asks Cage to become their informant. Sounds bonkers, but that what's Cage is all about! Currently sitting at incredible 100% Freshness on Rotten Tomatoes, the film is surely a massive comeback for previously ostracized actor.
Bloody Disgusting's Meagan Navarro described the film as a "raucous journey that'll leave you with a grin plastered on your face", while noting that film's jokes will certainly "deepen your appreciation for [Cage's] work".
RogerEbert.com's Marya E. Gates called the film "transcendent", while IndieWire's Jude Dry preemptively declared Cage's flick to be "one of the funniest movies of the year".
Critics reviews are important, but the public's opinion shouldn't be ignored either. Last night's special screening of the film attracted quite a crowd, with multiple people going to Twitter afterwards, sharing their delight with friends and fans.
