New Amsterdam Viewers Left Frustrated by Latest Iggy and Martin Plot Twist
Fans of the show have been invested in the relationship between Iggy and Martin and have been following their ups and downs for seasons. However, latest episode shows that maybe the relationship wasn't worth all that emotional investment.
Fans of New Amsterdam were left scratching their heads after the latest episode, S5E11, which featured the return of Iggy's romantic troubles and a seemingly never-ending cycle of drama between him and Martin.
"I mean, seriously, what the heck is going on with Iggy?" said one frustrated fan on social media. "First he's divorcing Martin, then he's asking him out on a date again? It's like the writers just pulled this plot out of thin air."
Others compared the script to "bad fan fiction," with one tweeting, "I feel like Iggy has the same light bulb moment over and over again. Can't these writers come up with something new?"
But perhaps the biggest disappointment for fans came in the form of Iggy's storyline and failed character development itself.
"Iggy is just a glutton for punishment at this point," said one viewer. "Martin has put him through the ringer so many times and yet here he is, back for more. It's like they're just repeating the same plot points over and over again."
Overall, it seems that fans are not pleased with the latest developments in the Iggy and Martin saga, and are hoping for something fresh and new. However, it's unlikely to happen at this point (although with New Amsterdam drama, you just never know): there are just two episodes left, with series finale set to air in under 2 weeks, on January 17.
